The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) will direct internet service providers (ISPs) to prohibit access to two additional offshore gambling sites and advise patrons of these brands to promptly retrieve their funds.

The ACMA will execute blocking orders against two offshore gambling websites, Dinkum Pokies and Fortune Clock Casino. These online platforms have lately been the subject of numerous grievances, encompassing the withholding of winnings and inadequate treatment of players.

The regulatory body conducted an investigation following the receipt of complaints and determined that the websites were in violation of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001.

Since the ACMA initially introduced blocking requests in November 2019, 150 illicit gambling websites have been prohibited. Since the agency began enforcing new regulations and penalties against offshore gambling in 2017, over 100 illicit operators have withdrawn from the Australian market.

Website blocking is regarded as a valuable opportunity to raise public awareness of unlawful gambling services through messages that appear when attempting to access the websites.

Any website discovered operating in violation of the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, such as operating without a permit or offering casino-style games, may be prohibited by the ACMA.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has taken a firm stance against illicit gambling websites, shutting down a number of them throughout 2020. They blocked nine in January, eleven in July, and eight in August.

In the meantime, the Office of Responsible Gambling (ORG) in New South Wales cautioned online bettors to exclusively utilize Australian-licensed services. They stated that these services offer enhanced consumer protection and responsible gambling features, such as establishing limits on spending and playtime.

Natalie Wright, the director of ORG, stated, “Foreign gambling websites are unlawful in Australia, and individuals who utilize them are placing themselves at a higher risk than those who employ licensed Australian operators.”

Therefore, if you wish to engage in online gambling, ensure that you are employing a service that is licensed in Australia. This is the most secure method of participation.
