A British wagering firm, 10Bet, has received a significant penalty of £620,000 (approximately $748,000) for failing to meet its obligations regarding social responsibility and anti-money laundering regulations. The UK Gambling Commission determined that the company, operating under the name Blue Star Planet Limited, exhibited serious deficiencies in its measures to combat money laundering and safeguard at-risk patrons.
An inquiry, which encompassed on-site compliance assessments, revealed that 10Bet had not adequately implemented anti-money laundering protocols and experienced difficulties with its responsible gaming policies. This violation transpired between November 2019 and June 2021. As a component of a resolution, the firm has consented to pay the penalty and contribute the entirety of the sum to charitable organizations.
The United Kingdom’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) imposed a significant consequence on Blue Star Planet Limited. Although not formally a financial penalty, the organization will contribute a considerable sum of £620,000 to a chosen charitable institution. This action probably originates from an infringement of data protection regulations, an area the ICO prioritizes. Beyond this contribution, Blue Star Planet must also bear the expenses incurred by the ICO’s inquiry, totaling £3571.25.
