The renowned Caesars Entertainment group is making a significant foray into Nebraska, with ambitions to establish the state’s inaugural comprehensive casino and resort destination. Scheduled to debut in early 2024, this establishment, nestled in the center of the “Cornhusker State,” will also house Nebraska’s most expansive horse racing venue.

This past week, Caesars leadership offered the public a glimpse behind the curtain, unveiling detailed blueprints and artistic renderings of the endeavor at a community gathering. The event saw the presence of notable individuals such as Columbus Mayor Jim Bulkley, alongside delegates from the Columbus Exposition and Racing, the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, and the project’s lead construction firm, Whiting-Turner.

Christened “Harrah’s Columbus Racing & Casino,” the resort guarantees an exhilarating experience. Picture a 28,000-square-foot casino expanse, alive with the thrill of over 500 slot machines and 14 live table games. For sports aficionados, a dedicated sportsbook will be available to place wagers on their preferred teams and athletes.

However, it’s not solely about the gaming. Caesars recognizes the significance of a comprehensive experience. Therefore, they are incorporating popular dining choices like “Brew Brothers” and an establishment named “Wishbone,” a nostalgic tribute to a cherished local gathering place that ceased operations in 2021. And for those desiring to prolong their visit, the resort will provide two hotels directly linked to the casino: a Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites and a TownePlace Suites.

“We are elated to be constructing a brand-new entertainment destination in this wonderful state,” remarked Todd Connelly, Caesars’ Regional President. He underscored that this project signifies a substantial landmark for the company, one they have been eagerly awaiting. “We are honored to collaborate with [local organizations] and value the robust backing we’ve received from the local community at today’s event. We eagerly anticipate greeting guests from Columbus and beyond when we commence operations in 2024.”

Prepare yourselves! The Ag Park location will transform into a short-term gaming establishment in the late months of spring 2023. This fleeting venue will keep you entertained until the grand unveiling of Harrah’s Columbus Racetrack and Casino the following year. You can test your fortune on more than 200 slot machines and accumulate those delightful Caesars Rewards points.
