The buzz was electric in Terre Haute, Indiana as Churchill Downs Incorporated debuted its newest treasure – the Terre Haute Casino Resort. This $290 million spectacle commenced operations, providing a tempting glimpse of what awaits when it fully launches in May. Guests can anticipate an exhilarating encounter with a wide array of slot machines and table games, a designated sports wagering area, and diverse culinary choices.

Encompassing an expansive 400,000 square feet, the resort showcases 1,000 cutting-edge slot machines, 36 thrilling table games, and a dedicated zone for sports betting. Foodies are in for a delight with a spectrum of dining experiences including the refined Four Corners Steakhouse, the relaxed sophistication of Rosewater Bar and Grill, the nostalgic allure of Soda Fountain, the vibrant Crossroads Center Bar, and an exclusive high-roller bar.

“This day signifies the apex of years of commitment and partnership,” remarked Bill Carstanjen, Chief Executive Officer of Churchill Downs Incorporated. “This endeavor represents not merely an investment in leisure, but an investment in the destiny of Vigo County and the state of Indiana.”

The Terre Haute Casino Resort signifies Churchill Downs Incorporated’s venture into Indiana’s entertainment landscape, broadening its presence to a 14th state. The excitement continues to escalate as the resort prepares to unveil its opulent 122-room hotel, a rooftop lounge with panoramic vistas, and an inviting coffee shop – all slated to premiere on May 15, 2024.

The development of the Terre Haute Casino Resort generated close to 1,000 construction positions, injecting a substantial stimulus into the regional economy. Upon reaching full operation, the resort anticipates establishing approximately 550 permanent roles, encompassing both full-time and part-time capacities. Initiated in June 2022, the construction process saw collaboration with their associate, William Construction.

February 2024 marked the announcement of a significant alliance between Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) and SAP America. SAP is poised to become the principal technology provider for Churchill Downs Racetrack, the Kentucky Derby, and the Kentucky Oaks.

Furthermore, CDI revealed a $200 million refurbishment endeavor at Churchill Downs, featuring the establishment of an upscale dining venue known as the “SI Club.” Scheduled to premiere in conjunction with the 150th Kentucky Derby, the SI Club, previously the 1895 Club, will present racing enthusiasts with high-end culinary options and exceptional vistas of the recently modernized paddock and Paddock Plaza.
